Popular Classic Arcade Games

During the 1970s and 1980s, the kids and the whole generation of Americans were known about only one kind of games that were arcade games. They grow up playing these particular games before PCs became a perfect household phenomenon. Arcade games generally consist of a very simple and a bit bulky machine. It had a vibrant colorful screen. In order to play it had some buttons or sticks. This machine also had a device through which the coins were dropped inside it.

The whole generation of kids belonging to the 1970s and 1980s grew up playing three kinds of arcade games with much interest. The three kinds of arcade game were redemption games, video games and the famed pinball. These games were readily available in those days at movie halls, shopping malls, in hotels and entertainment centers. It was during the 1930s, the first coin-operated pinball machines were introduced. It was made of durable wood and had all functional mechanism which made this game very simple and played by all. This game was a big hit among boys and girls.

In 1972, the fortunes of arcade games went into major change with the formation of a company called Atari. This was the company which introduced the coin-operated machines. It began its initial introduction to the open market with the electronic ping pong game which was popularly known as Pong. Pong. It was a great hit among the player who took much keenness in playing with this game. The popularity led to much more home video gaming systems being confidently introduced onto the open market to capture the hearts of those interested to play arcade games.

In the 1970s and 1980s, many games such as Pac-Man, Space Invaders and Donkey Kong became big hits. This rightly paved the way to a new revolution in arcade games. In the early 1990s, the arcade games proved to be more interesting with the introduction of two players fighting games. It really captured the hearts of the kids, adults and old age folk to a great extent. These games were known as King of fighters, Fatal Fury, Mortal Combat¸ Street Fighter II and so on.

With the advent of the computer and video technology, peoples saw the great emergence of new kind of games that included games which ran on Play station, personal computer games and X-box pushing arcade games. A lot of new things are happening along with technological advancement and development in the field of arcade games. New games are introduced from every nook and corner of the world and these games are played and getting acceptance very quickly among the players. But still a lot of people from the past generation feel those popular classic arcade games were the best and nothing can be forgotten about the arcade trends and happening of those days.
