Why 80s Arcade Games Are The Best?

Remembering the decade of the 1980's would never be perfectly complete without making reference about the 80's arcade games. In those days in the entertainment malls, video centers and even in busy hotels and restaurants, a person will usually come across an arcade game which is a coin-operated gaming machine. In these arcade games player's rewards are given based on their score in the game for redemption games in pinball games and computer-controlled video games.

In the early 1970's arcade games began to be so famous among the crowd. During this time the Pong video game released by Ted Dabney and Nolan Bushnell immediately became a big hit among everyone. The initial success of the pong video game saw in the open market so many imitation and more video games of these kind. These types of video games were seen in movie houses, bars and restaurants, department stores and entertainment malls throughout the United States.

In the 1980's, arcade games was a great hit among all age groups. Even the kids, adults and old age people took keen interest in the games. The most influential arcade games of the 1980 were Space Invaders, Pac-Man, Donkey Kong etc. The space invader was created by Toshihiro Nishikado of Japan. It is one of the predecessors of modern video game. It was released in Japan in 1978. This arcade game imitates a perfect shooting gallery with an attractive and movable laser which is placed just below the video screen. To make the game interesting, there were many video aliens that were well designed to mainly disrupt the game by just passing across the given screen and by continuously raining bombs and harmful rays that are much deadly. The main goal of this arcade player is to successfully avoid those bombs and deadly rays shoot the assigned aliens so that they would not successfully reach the bottom of the given screen or else, the player will lose in the given game.

Pac-Man was created by Namco. In 1980, it was first distributed on a wider scale. The revised version of this game is still popular even today. It was a non-violent play so it was liked by all. It was so easy to be played and much enjoyed by all age groups. In this game, the yellow circle with a large mouth is known as Pac-Man. This game is played with deliberate coordinated movement requiring skill and dexterity of leading Pac-Man, through the difficult given maze, particularly letting him eat all small dots and many item prizes along its path. There are some interesting ghost called Clyde, Pinky, Inky and Blinky which makes the game much difficult and interesting too.

Another video game which became much popular during the 1980's is Donkey Kong. It was introduced in 1981 by Nintendo. The central character of this game was known as Mario. This game was much interesting because Mario has to pass through many platforms and get rid of all those hurdles on its path and particularly rescue a damsel who is in distress from the hold of Donkey Kong. The other games which were so famous during this period of 1980's were Rubik's cube, Tron, Tetris, Pengo, Battlezone and many more.
